Vladimir Putin sent greetings to participants in the 1st Moscow Academic Economic Forum (MAEF), which is taking place in Moscow on May 15–16.
The message reads, in part:
“This forum has brought together leading researchers and experts, representatives of government bodies, businesses and public organisations to discuss a wide range of issues related to the dynamic development of the Russian economy and the strengthening of the country’s scientific potential for solving key national problems.
I would like to note with satisfaction that your discussions are based on thorough research, analytics and forecasts. This fundamental approach is extremely sought-after today. It unites the academic community around major and important goals, and focuses its efforts on the programmes and initiatives with the biggest potential designed to ensure Russia’s technological leadership and its equal participation in global science.
I expect this forum to become a regular event and to contribute to increasing the efficiency of scientific research in the interests of Russia and its citizens.”
